Original Potato Head

Everyone knows about Mr. Potato Head and just about everyone kid had one.  Mr. Potato Head has been around since 1952, but he was not always the way we know him today.  Back in the early years, a Mr. Potato Head kit did not come with the plastic potato body.  While it came with all the pieces, people needed to supply their own real potatoes.  Yes, Mr. Potato is so old that he used to be an actual potato.  If you or your parents were alive in the 50s and 60s, then they probably remember putting accessories on an actual potato as children.  Today's Mr. Potato Head doesn't require and actual food.
